Afridi’s four-for flips it

Shahid Afridi turned a runaway Austria innings into a chase Germany could actually win, and Rohit Singh finished the job as Germany hunted down 213 to win by five wickets with six balls left. Austria looked set for 230-plus on the back of a 135-run stand, but Afridi’s strikes in the back half forced enough stumbles for Germany to stay in touch, even as the required rate hovered in double digits.

Powerplay sets the chase

Germany effectively won it in the first six overs of their reply. Their 87/2 powerplay (14.5 an over) wiped out Austria’s early advantage and meant the chase never became a pure slog. Even when the tempo dipped late — just 23 runs in the death overs before the finish — the damage had already been done in the opening burst and the steadier middle phase (106/2) that kept wickets in hand while the target stayed manageable.

Rohit and Afridi headline

Rohit Singh’s 83 off 45 was the chase’s anchor and accelerator, and his 53-run partnership with Nasseri prevented the innings from splintering after early wickets. For Austria, Zalmai’s assault and Armaan Randhawa’s 50 off 36 built the platform, but Afridi (4/34) and Jeevan Bhatt (3/34) repeatedly broke momentum, turning a dominant stand into a total Germany could chase down.

Pre-match edge, on-field proof

Germany came in with the form and head-to-head lean, and that confidence showed in how they absorbed Austria’s best passage: Bilal Zalmai’s 89 off 34. Austria’s batting matchup edge was real — the ball flew in the powerplay and again at the death — but their inability to control Germany’s top order early, plus leaking 70 in four overs from Umair Tariq, swung the game back to the side expected to have more depth.

About Cricombo — cricket schedule, results & predictions

What is Cricombo?

Cricombo is a free cricket hub that combines the day's schedule, live scores, results and AI match predictions in one place. We cover the IPL and every major T20 league right down to smaller competitions the bigger sites overlook, so you get a full fixtures list and a prediction for each match without paywalls or sign-up.

How does Cricombo predict cricket matches?

Each prediction blends several independent models — machine learning, an editorial maths model and AI analysis — alongside the live bookmaker line. We factor in the confirmed playing XI, head-to-head history, recent team form and venue stats, then publish win probabilities for both sides before the match starts.

Are the predictions free?

Yes, every prediction on Cricombo is completely free. There is no subscription, no paywall and no account required — open any match to see its win probabilities, playing XI and preview.

How accurate are the predictions?

After each game we publish a full scorecard and report showing exactly how the prediction held up, so accuracy is transparent rather than a claim. Predictions are probabilistic — they estimate each side's chance of winning, not a guaranteed outcome — and work best across many matches rather than any single game.

Which cricket leagues and formats does Cricombo cover?

Cricombo covers the Indian Premier League (IPL), T20 Blast, Big Bash League, Super Smash, Pakistan Super League, the Caribbean Premier League and internationals, plus women's cricket. We also add smaller tournaments that mainstream score sites skip, so the schedule stays complete.

Where do the live scores and schedule come from?

The home page shows today's fixtures with live scores that update automatically as matches play out, plus a calendar to jump to any past or upcoming day. Past days show full results and scorecards; upcoming days show the schedule with pre-match predictions.
