Yadav’s 36-ball blitz
Suryakumar Yadav turned a manageable chase into a procession, blasting 75 off 36 to steer Triumph Knights MNE to a 6-wicket win with 30 balls remaining. The defining surge came in the middle overs, where his clean hitting and sharp running flipped the required rate into irrelevance. By the time he was set, the Royals’ 152 had stopped looking competitive, and the chase was effectively decided long before the final overs arrived.
Middle-overs acceleration sealed it
The game was won in Triumph Knights’ middle phase: 100/2 at 9.7 an over. After a steady powerplay (53/2), Yadav and Nutan Goel refused to let the spinners settle, targeting the gaps and picking the shorter boundary to keep the scoreboard racing. With no wickets falling through that stretch, the Royals were denied the one thing they needed — a squeeze that could push the chase into a nervy finish.
Four names shaped the night
D’Souza was the match’s pivot with 5/21 in 3.5 overs, repeatedly striking just as Royals looked to kick on. Yadav’s 75(36) at a strike rate over 200 provided the knockout punch, while Nutan Goel’s 56(42) anchored the 102-run partnership that settled the chase. For the Royals, Maxwell Swaminathan’s 36(29) was their top score, but it wasn’t enough to offset the late wickets and lost momentum.
D’Souza’s burst, Royals’ slide
Earlier, MSC Maratha Royals had threatened a platform, especially through their best stand of 72 between their key pair, but Sylvester D’Souza kept dragging them back. His spell ended the innings at 152 all out in 19.5, and the damage was most visible at the back end: just 27 runs in the death overs while losing four wickets. The Royals never rebuilt after that late collapse, and the chase started with the pressure already off.
