Ojha ne India men’s selection chair sambhala, Powar ne West Zone ki vacancy bhari

Pragyan Ojha ko India ke men’s senior selection committee ka chair appoint kiya gaya hai, aur Ramesh Powar ko West Zone ki woh jagah bharne ke liye laya gaya hai jo Ajit Agarkar ka term October 4 ko khatam hone ke baad vacant thi. Powar ko BCCI ki cricket advisory committee — Ashok Malhotra aur Jatin Paranjape — ne Wasim Jaffer jaise aur candidates se aage chuna.

Ojha, jo September 2025 se panel par hain, international appearances ki seniority ke basis par chair sambhalte hain, jahan Tests ko precedence milta hai. Committee ab Ojha (chair), Shiv Sunder Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra aur Powar se milkar bani hai.

Sirf doosra: Mizoram ke Chinmay Sutar ne Ranji Trophy mein 400* thok diya

Chinmay Sutar first-class innings mein quadruple century register karne wale sirf doosre Indian batter ban gaye, aur Sovima mein Nagaland ke khilaaf Mizoram ke liye 400 not out par finish kiya. Apne sirf doosre first-class match mein, 29-year-old ne Prithvi Shaw ke 379 ko cross karke Ranji Trophy ki all-time list mein second spot le li, aur 1948-49 ke BB Nimbalkar ke long-standing record 443* se 43 short reh gaye.

Mizoram ne 581 for 9 par declare kiya, jab Sutar 155th over mein landmark tak pahunch gaye the, aur unhone Lalrempunia Chhakchhuak ke saath tenth wicket ke liye unbroken 189 add kiye. Yeh 400* first-class history ka 400 ya usse zyada ka 12th score tha, aur pehli baar kisi player ne apni maiden first-class hundred ko quadruple ton mein convert kiya.

Equipment abuse breach ke baad Shafali Verma ko ICC reprimand aur demerit point

India opener Shafali Verma ko Zimbabwe ke khilaaf second T20I ke dauran ICC Code of Conduct ke Level 1 breach ke liye official reprimand aur ek demerit point mila hai. Offence Article 2.2 se related tha, jo international match mein cricket equipment ya ground fixtures ke abuse ko cover karta hai.

Incident Zimbabwe ki innings ke 12th over mein hua, jab Shafali ne mid-off par Sree Charani ki ball par Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano ka catch drop karne ke baad frustration mein ball ko ground mein phenk diya. Shafali ne offence admit kiya aur match referee GS Lakshmi dwara propose ki gayi sanction accept kar li, jisse formal hearing avoid ho gayi; yeh 24-month period mein unka pehla offence tha. India three-match series mein 2-0 se lead kar raha hai, aur third T20I Tuesday evening ko hai, jiske baad October 23 se Vadodara mein three ODIs honge.
