Parkar drags it to a super over
Suved Parkar’s brutal 111 off 55 balls turned a steep chase into a dead heat, but North Mumbai Panthers found the last answer in the super over to win after both sides finished on 228. Panthers had earlier rocketed out of the blocks, then recovered from a mid-innings wobble to post a total that looked match-winning. NaMo matched them stride for stride, with Parkar repeatedly resetting the asking rate and forcing the game into the final-over scramble.
Panthers’ death-overs surge
The decisive swing came in the last five overs of North Mumbai’s innings. After racing to 94 for 2 in the powerplay, they stalled through the middle overs (93 for 5) as wickets kept interrupting momentum. Then the death overs flipped the script: 61 runs came at 15.2 an over, powered by Vaibhav Mali’s 51 off 19 that turned a par-looking 20-over score into 228. That late acceleration proved crucial once NaMo’s chase stayed ahead of the curve for long stretches.
Tamore and Parkar headline
Hardik Tamore’s 83 off 39 gave Panthers their early dominance, combining in a best stand of 67 with Abhigyan Kundu to set up the innings. Mali’s late cameo supplied the decisive extra runs that ultimately mattered in a tie. For NaMo, Parkar was the standout, striking at 202 and carrying the chase deep enough to force the super over, earning MVP despite the narrow defeat.
NaMo’s chase, Panthers’ resistance
NaMo began with intent, reaching 88 without loss in the powerplay and laying the base for a major pursuit. The key passage was the 100-run partnership between Parkar and Prateek Yadav, which absorbed any early pressure and kept boundaries flowing through the middle. Panthers’ counterpunch came via Pratik Mishra, whose 3 for 38 broke rhythm often enough to prevent a clean finish, ensuring the chase remained a contest into the final over.
