Boshoff and Chauhan flip it
Sweden’s chase turned the moment Wynand Boshoff dug in after the early burst from Ahmadullah Shinwari. From 48/4 in the powerplay, Boshoff and Chauhan stitched the decisive 64-run partnership to drag the required rate back under control. Sweden got home at 138/5 in 17.5 overs, a five-wicket win with 13 balls remaining, despite Norway’s best efforts to defend 137.
Sweden’s middle overs rescue
The game was effectively won in Sweden’s middle phase: 73/1 at 7.2 an over after the powerplay damage. That stretch erased Norway’s early advantage and ensured the chase didn’t drift into a late scramble. With wickets in hand, Sweden could pick safer match-ups and keep the board moving, then lift the tempo at the end with 17 unbeaten runs in the death overs.
Boshoff anchors, Shinwari strikes
Boshoff’s 46 off 39 provided the chase’s spine, absorbing the new-ball pressure and cashing in once the field spread. Shinwari’s 3/21 was Norway’s standout spell, repeatedly dragging the game back with timely wickets. For Sweden, Mahmood’s 2/19 and Baluch’s 2/25 set the tone early, keeping Norway to 137/9 and ensuring the target stayed within reach.
Norway’s late surge, early squeeze
Norway’s innings had the opposite shape. They crawled to 29/3 in the powerplay as Hamid Mahmood and Naser Baluch hit hard lengths and conceded little.
