Fariha TrisnaF. TrisnaDilara Akter sets the tone
Dilara Akter’s clean striking in the powerplay became the defining moment of an 8-over shootout, giving Bangladesh W the cushion they needed to win by 13 runs. Her 51 off 26 balls powered Bangladesh to 98/3, and even though the innings slowed late, the early damage left Netherlands W needing a near-perfect chase that ultimately fell short at 85/5.
Powerplay blitz decides it
The game was effectively won in the first phase. Bangladesh rocketed to 82/1 in the powerplay at 13.3 an over, a burst that dwarfed everything that followed. Netherlands’ bowlers pulled things back afterwards — Bangladesh managed only 16/2 in the middle overs — but the chase was always chasing that initial spike. By contrast, Netherlands’ 59/2 powerplay, while brisk, left them still behind the required tempo.
Dilara, Ritu seal it
Dilara’s 51 (SR 196) was the innings that separated the sides, with her stand of 40 with Ferdous giving Bangladesh a stable launchpad. Ritu Moni then delivered the most controlling spell of the match, taking 2/11 from 2 overs to squeeze the chase at crucial points. For Netherlands, de Leede’s 30 off 14 and Siegers’ 21 off 15 kept the contest alive, but the late wickets ensured the acceleration never fully arrived.
Siegers-Leede keep chase alive
Netherlands refused to let it drift, building their reply around a 51-run partnership between Heather Siegers and Babette de Leede. The momentum swung in the middle overs when they added 26/3 at 13 an over, briefly putting Bangladesh under pressure. But the chase lost its shape when wickets arrived in the closing stretch: a key moment came in the seventh over, when Bangladesh struck to break the stand and force new batters into a steep finish.
