Gurbaz blows it open
Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s first six overs rewrote the chase, as Mis Ainak Knights sprinted away from Amo Sharks’ 166/7 and finished the job by 9 wickets with 53 balls to spare. With the ball flying from the start, the target quickly became a formality, and the chase ended in just 11.1 overs with Gurbaz unbeaten on a brutal 107 off 39.
Powerplay: 109/0 decisive
The match was effectively decided in the first phase of the Knights’ innings. They smashed 109/0 in the powerplay at 18.2 an over, turning a required rate of 8.35 into a procession. By the end of the sixth, the Sharks’ earlier work with the bat had been wiped out, and the Knights were already well past halfway with all ten wickets intact.
Gurbaz and Sami stand out
Gurbaz was the game’s defining force, striking at 274 and dominating the 163-run opening partnership with Khalid Taniwal, who added a rapid 50 off 26. For Amo, Keramat Ullah’s 72 off 51 was the only substantial anchor, and it needed more support after the top order fell early. Sami’s three wickets ensured the Sharks never posted the kind of total that could withstand a powerplay like this.
Sharks’ late surge, early stumbles
Amo Sharks’ innings had two clear moods: early damage, then a strong finish. They slipped to 48/3 in the powerplay and were still only 119/7 after the middle overs, before a 47-run death phase without loss dragged them to 166/7. Mis Ainak’s bowlers kept the lid on through the middle, with Bilal Sami’s 3/33 the key spell, and Dawlat Zadran conceding just 24 in his four.
