Ahmadzai’s late surge seals it
Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai flipped the match on its head with a brutal 64 off 27, turning a competitive platform into an imposing total and powering Speen Ghar Tigers to a 59-run win. After early wickets, his acceleration through the back end ensured the Tigers finished at 219/6, leaving Boost Defenders chasing a rate that only climbed as the innings wore on.
Death overs: Tigers’ knockout punch
The decisive separation came at the death. Speen Ghar were strong in the powerplay at 71/3, then steadied in the middle with 87/2, but it was the final five overs that crushed the contest: 61/1 at 15.2 an over. Ahmadzai’s hitting, followed by clean finishing, meant Boost needed a near-perfect chase; instead, their own death phase returned just 26/3, a stark contrast that defined the margin.
Ahmadzai, Zadran, Alam decisive
Ahmadzai was the standout, combining placement and power for a match-defining 64(27) at 237. Mohammad Akram Zazai’s 53(26) added crucial impetus to the Tigers’ innings, ensuring they kept scoring even through the middle. For Boost, Zadran’s 59(37) was the lone sustained resistance, but Alam’s economy and timely wickets, backed by Rashid’s 2/29, closed the door.
Boost’s chase loses shape
Boost began brightly at 54/1 in the powerplay, with Ibrahim Zadran anchoring and a 49-run stand with Karim Janat giving the pursuit structure. But the middle overs bled momentum—80/4 as wickets interrupted boundary flow—and the required rate ballooned. Ismat Alam’s 3 overs for 15 were pivotal in that squeeze, while Rashid Khan’s control and strikes ensured the chase never regained its early rhythm.
