Tarakhail rips chase apart
Abdullah Tarakhail turned the match on its head with a decisive spell that derailed Mis Ainak Knights after their flying start, sealing an 18-run win for Boost Defenders. Chasing 192, the Knights were 106 without loss in the powerplay, but the innings unravelled once wickets began to fall in clusters. Boost’s 191/3 had looked vulnerable early, yet the chase never recovered from the mid-innings squeeze and late collapse.
Death-overs surge sets 192
The game was won in Boost’s finishing kick with the bat. After a steady powerplay (40/0) and a wobble through the middle overs that left them 125/3, they exploded for 66 unbeaten in the last five. Najibullah Zadran anchored the acceleration with 56 off 36, and the late overs were taken away at 15.8 an over, turning a competitive total into a demanding one.
Zadran, Gurbaz, Tarakhail decisive
Zadran’s composure through the middle and his finishing touches gave Boost a platform, while Akbar Musazai’s 42 off 19 turbocharged the innings in an 83-run stand. Gurbaz’s powerplay assault briefly put Mis Ainak ahead of the rate, but Tarakhail’s 5/32 was the match-defining intervention, supported by Arab Gul’s 2/27 in a disciplined chase defence.
From 106/0 to collapse
Mis Ainak’s chase began with a blistering 111-run opening stand between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Khalid Taniwal, with Gurbaz tearing into the ball for 87 off 31. The turning point came immediately after the powerplay: the scoring rate crashed in the middle phase to 50/4, and pressure built as boundaries dried up. Once Tarakhail struck, the lower order couldn’t stem the slide, managing only 17/6 at the death.
