Zadran’s calm finish

Najibullah Zadran’s 55 off 37 became the difference in a chase that swung late, as Boost Defenders edged Band-e-Amir Dragons by three wickets with one ball remaining. After a frenetic start left them 60/3 in the powerplay, Boost steadied, then surged at the death to overhaul 194. The decisive moment came in the final over, when Boost squeezed the last few runs under pressure to cross the line at 199/7 in 19.5.

Dragons’ death-overs squeeze

The match tilted in the last five overs of the chase, when Boost’s scoring rate jumped from consolidation to full throttle. They went 54/3 in the death at 14.1 an over, refusing to let Band-e-Amir’s spinners dictate terms. Even with wickets falling, the boundary flow meant the required rate never spiralled, and the chase stayed within one big over of control.

Atal shines; Zadran answers

Atal was the standout, striking at 182 and carrying the Dragons’ total. For Boost, Zadran’s anchoring aggression and a 71-run partnership with Akbar Musazai rebuilt the chase after early losses. Bashir Ahmad’s 2/27 was crucial in the late squeeze, while AM Ghazanfar (3/31) and Nangeyalia Kharote (2/4) kept the finish tight before Boost finally broke through.

Atal’s hundred, then a stall

Band-e-Amir’s innings had been set up by Sediqullah Atal’s commanding 113 (62), backed by an 85-run stand with Haroon Khan that powered them to 61/0 in the powerplay and 165/1 through the middle.
