Abdullah Ahmadzai breaks the chase
Abdullah Ahmadzai’s four-wicket burst was the turning point that turned Band-e-Amir’s pursuit into a scramble. Even with the asking rate within reach early, his strikes through the middle overs ensured the Dragons never built the one stand they needed, and Amo Sharks closed out a 34-run win after posting 169/8 in 17 overs.
Amo’s middle-overs squeeze
The match was effectively decided in the middle phase. Amo flew to 49 without loss in the powerplay, but the Dragons hit back hard after the field spread, dragging the Sharks to 103/5 by the end of the middle overs. Crucially, Amo still found a late lift — 17 runs in the death despite losing three more wickets — which pushed the target beyond a comfortable chase.
Ahmadzai and Saleem stand out
Ahmadzai was the standout, finishing with 4/38 from four overs to earn MVP for repeatedly breaking momentum. Yamin Ahmadzai’s 3/32 in 3.5 overs kept the squeeze on when Safi was counterattacking. For Band-e-Amir, Mohammad Saleem’s 4/40 was the key reason Amo didn’t run away earlier, while Hassan Eisakhil (37 off 30) and Imran Mir (33 off 23) anchored the Sharks’ best stand of 56.
Safi’s burst, then wickets
Band-e-Amir’s chase began with early damage at 44/2 in the powerplay, but Farmanullah Safi briefly flipped the momentum with a 24-ball 54 at a strike rate of 225. The best Dragons partnership was only 36, and that lack of continuity told: from 81/6 at the end of the middle overs, the required rate ballooned, and the final push never arrived.
