Hamid Shah didn’t just finish the chase — he detonated it. With Denmark wobbling and the asking rate climbing, Shah held his nerve before launching a decisive late assault to seal a five-wicket win with seven balls remaining. Germany’s 141/9 had kept the contest tight through the middle, but Shah’s acceleration, capped by an unbeaten push through the final over, ensured Denmark got home at 144/5 in 18.5.
Death-overs blitz decides it
The match was effectively won in Denmark’s death overs: 48 without loss at 16.9 an over. After a cautious middle phase (58/3), Germany’s control — led by Jatinder Vashisht’s miserly 2/11 — had Denmark behind the required tempo. Then Shah flipped the script from the 16th over onward, turning a tense chase into a sprint and leaving Germany with too few overs to claw back momentum.

Shah was the match’s defining figure: 75 off 47 at a strike rate of 160, plus 3/23 with the ball to blunt Germany’s scoring lanes. Germany’s grip, then slip
