Saifuddin’s death-overs surge
The match swung hardest in Bangladesh’s final five overs. Tanzid Hasan’s 58 off 44 and Saif Hassan’s 55 off 45 laid the foundation with a commanding 117-run opening partnership, allowing Bangladesh to attack late without panic. Saifuddin then supplied the finishing burst that inflated the total beyond Zimbabwe’s reach. In the chase, Rishad’s 4/26 (3.4 overs) was the defining spell, backed by Mahedi Hasan’s 3/24 to keep Zimbabwe from building any sustained comeback.
Zimbabwe’s chase loses shape
Zimbabwe’s start was sharp — 56/3 in the powerplay — but the innings stalled badly in the middle, where they managed 65/5 at 6.5 an over. The best resistance came via a 44-run stand between Sikandar Raza and Milton Shumba, briefly restoring momentum. Once that partnership ended, the required rate climbed and Bangladesh’s bowlers kept taking wickets, leaving Zimbabwe with too much to do at the death.
