Munro takes chase control
Colin Munro seized the chase early and never let it drift, steering Los Angeles Knight Riders to a 7-wicket win with two balls remaining. After San Francisco Unicorns posted 150/7 in 14 overs, LAKR matched their tempo straight away, Munro and Andre Fletcher putting the chase on rails before the finish was calmly completed at 154/3 in 13.4.
Middle-overs collapse costs Unicorns
The match swung decisively in the Unicorns’ middle overs, where they lost six wickets for just 80 runs after a blistering start. From 70/1 in the powerplay, their innings stalled as wickets kept interrupting momentum, leaving them without the platform to push beyond 150. That squeeze meant LAKR could chase without needing a late-innings surge.
Munro leads, Pretorius flashes
Munro’s 64 from 40 balls (SR 160) was the innings that shaped the result, combining boundary-hitting with smart rotation. Fletcher’s 34 off 17 (SR 200) provided the early acceleration that made the chase manageable. For the Unicorns, Lhuan-dre Pretorius’ 58 off 28 (SR 207) was the standout in a 68-run stand, but the lack of support through the middle overs left their total vulnerable.
Siddle’s strikes, brief squeeze
The Unicorns did fight back with the ball, and Peter Siddle’s 2/27 was the clearest attempt to drag the chase into the final over. But LAKR’s powerplay mirrored the Unicorns’ 70/1, and the Munro-Fletcher partnership of 70 ensured the asking rate never ballooned.
