Bahir Shah sets the tone
Bahir Shah’s clean striking through the middle overs proved the difference as Speen Ghar Tigers defended 209/9 to beat Band-e-Amir Dragons by 24 runs. After a brisk start, the Tigers’ innings threatened to wobble when wickets fell around the 10-over mark, but Shah’s 56 off 34 rebuilt momentum and ensured the total stayed above par. The chase had its own punchy moments, yet the asking rate never truly dipped once the Tigers’ spinners got a grip.
Middle-overs surge decides it
The game was effectively won in Speen Ghar’s middle phase: 111/4 at 11.1 an over. That burst meant even a quieter death (32/3) still left them with 209. Band-e-Amir’s powerplay matched the intent at 69/2, but their middle overs slowed to 82/4 (8.2 rpo), creating a decisive gap of nearly three runs an over across the key phase.
Ismat, Rashid and the big hits
Shah’s 56 anchored the Tigers’ most productive passage, while Ismat Alam’s 2/27 was crucial in turning a fast start into a pressured pursuit. Rashid Khan’s 2/31 added control through the middle, limiting boundary bursts. For Band-e-Amir, Nasari’s 67 off 44 was the standout chase effort, with Atal’s cameo keeping the contest alive until the final overs.
Nasari resists, squeeze tightens
Band-e-Amir had a platform and a best stand of 55 between Pacha and Barakzai Nasari, but the Tigers repeatedly broke rhythm. A telling moment came just after the halfway stage: with the required rate climbing, Rashid Khan’s tight over forced risk, and the chase slipped from controlled aggression into catch-up mode. Even with Sediqullah Atal’s 56 off 29 providing late acceleration, the Dragons’ death phase (34/2) wasn’t enough to overhaul the earlier deficit.
